Genuki is a free site that contains vast amounts of material for all over the UK. It depends on volunteer contributors and local co-ordinators so some areas have much more information and material than others. It's a site well worth visiting.

Ireland - Irish Family History Foundation - Online Genealogy Databases for Ireland.
This is a website of great importance to anyone researching their Irish ancestors. The site co-ordinates a network of govenment approved genealogical research centres in the Republic of Ireland (Eire) and Northern Ireland (Ulster) and over 40 million ancestral records of baptism, birth, marriage, burial and death have been transcribed for the databases. The project is not completely finished, but progress has been very rapid. However, there are, unfortunately, still some counties where the Catholic Church records have not been released for inclusion in the databases.
The site also includes census returns (the years not destroyed) and Griffith's Valuation for Ireland.
The searches are free and the documents are then pay-to-view.
