Family Search - The International Genealogical Index from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This website provides a database of baptisms and marriages transcribed from Parish Registers, dating back to the earliest surviving ones, which is searchable by country, name, event and date (with plus and minus options). The database is the result of the LDS Church members transcribing the Parish Registers for their own use and then making them available through their many Family History Centres around the world and through theFamily Search internet site. The database is very comprehensive but not absolutely complete and, where parishes are included, the years documented need to be checked as there are gaps. The number of entries tends to tail-off after the mid 1800s.
